Leads ECC offers education to children for parents who wish a high-quality private center option for their children. We ensure that all kids who are admitted will thrive in an environment of high academic expectations. Children can benefit from the holistic education provided and be happy within the center community. In admission of children, we fully comply with all the applicable laws and regulations of the UAE and the Emirate of Dubai.

Leads does not discrimination on the grounds of diversity, gender, race, religion or academic level and the center admits children with mild to moderate Special Education Needs. All children admitted must agree to adhere to relevant center rules and policies.

Leads accepts children according to the KHDA regulations of age and grade correspondence as well as previous year passing grades or completion documents; FS1 applicants must complete 3 years by August 31st. Leads ECC admission policy considers all children and is an inclusive international center.

Admissions Process- The screening process is not going to be only for academic performance through the written assessment but also via meetings with the teachers. The child should attain satisfactory evaluation in the following areas as well:

  2. Interpersonal Skills
  3. Communication Skills in English -Comprehension & Expression
  4. Competence
  5. Positive self-discipline
  6. Respect for members of the center community

Leads ECC Admission Criteria also takes the following into account:

1. The willingness of the parents of the child applicant to collaborate actively with the center in the education and formation of the child (which includes the parent’s acceptance of the center policies, especially those found in the child handbook).
2. The willingness of the applicant and his parents to be involved in important center activities.

Registration and Information- The Registrar and other administrative personnel is available to assist parents in having a tour in the center and with the completion of all paperwork concerning registration.
Providing that the registration process is complete and within KHDA cut off dates, placement for your child is offered immediately.

Documents required for registration are as follows:
1. (2) copies of your child’s passport plus UAE entry stamp and/or residency page.
2. (2) copies of both parent’s / legal guardian’s passports plus UAE entry stamp and/or residency page.
3. (2) recent passport photographs (white background).
4. Full details of any special educational needs, IEPs (Individualized Education Plan) and any Educational Psychologist’s or other therapists reports available. It is essential that all educational history is presented to LEADS prior registration.
5. (2) copies of your child’s birth certificate (residents of some countries must produce an attested copy).
6. Full details of all vaccinations and immunizations for your child.
7. Registration fee of AED 1000 (non-refundable).

Once seats are all full, LEADS will place your child on our waiting list. Parents of children in the waiting
list are contacted once a free seat is available in the corresponding class.

Note: Siblings of already existing children will be given the priority for registration as parents prefer to
have all their children in one center. Parents will be given 5% discount on the tuition fees of the first
sibling and 10% on the tuition fees of the second sibling.

Definitions of Abuse

– **Physical Abuse:** Infliction of physical injury or harm.

– **Sexual Abuse:** Any sexual activity with a child.
– **Neglect:** Failure to provide for a child’s basic needs.

Procedures:

1. Recruitment and Training:
– Conduct thorough background checks on all staff and volunteers.
– Provide regular training on child protection issues and procedures.
2. Code of Conduct:
– Staff must follow a strict code of conduct that outlines appropriate behavior with children.
– Any breach of this code will result in disciplinary action.
3. Reporting and Responding to Concerns:
– All staff must report any concerns about a child’s welfare to the designated Child Protection
Officer (CPO).
– The CPO will document and investigate all reports, taking appropriate action, which may
include contacting local authorities.
– Maintain clear and detailed records of any incidents or concerns.
4. Partnership with Parents:
– Maintain open communication with parents and guardians.
– Inform parents about our child protection policies and procedures.
5. Safety Measures:
– Ensure the nursery environment is safe and secure.
– Regularly review and update safety policies and procedures.

Review of Policy:

This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure it remains effective and up-to-date with current legislation and best practices.

Approval and Review:

1. Purpose

To ensure the safety and well-being of all children, staff, and visitors in the event of a fire or any other emergency requiring evacuation.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all staff, children, and visitors within the nursery premises.

3. Responsibilities

– Nursery Admin: Overall responsibility for the evacuation process, ensuring all staff are trained and evacuation drills are conducted regularly.
– all staff: responsible for knowing the evacuation procedures, guiding children to safety, and ensuring all children are accounted for.
– Parents: Informed about the evacuation procedures and their roles during an emergency.

4. Evacuation Procedure

Alarm Activation:
– Upon detecting a fire or any emergency, activate the nearest fire alarm to alert everyone in the nursery.
Immediate Actions:
– Staff must remain calm and reassure the children.
– Staff should immediately stop all activities and begin the evacuation process.
Evacuation Routes:
– Follow the designated evacuation routes posted throughout the nursery. And use seniors’ class as a emergency door>
Assembly Points:
– Proceed to the designated assembly point outside the building.
– Ensure that the assembly point is a safe distance from the building and accessible for emergency services.
Assisting Children:
– Staff should assist children in an orderly manner, ensuring that they hold hands or use a safety rope to stay together.
– Staff must carry the attendance register, emergency contact information, and any necessary medication or supplies.
Headcount and Reporting:
– Conduct a headcount immediately upon reaching the assembly point.
– Report any missing children or staff to the Nursery Manager or emergency services immediately.
Communication:
– The Nursery Admin will communicate with emergency services and provide any necessary information.
– Parents/guardians will be notified as soon as it is safe and practical.
Re-entry:
– Do not re-enter the building until it has been declared safe by the emergency services.

5. Training and Drills

– Training:
– All staff will receive training on the evacuation procedures during their induction and refresher courses annually.
– Drills:
– Evacuation drills will be conducted at least once every term to ensure familiarity with the procedures.

6. Visitors

– Visitors must sign in and out and be informed of the evacuation procedures upon arrival.

7. Review and Update

This policy aims to ensure a safe and efficient evacuation in the event of an emergency, prioritizing the safety of children, staff, and visitors at all times.

1. Purpose

This policy outlines the conditions under which tuition fees may be refunded to parents or guardians, in ccordance with the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA)guidelines.

2. Scope

This policy applies to all parents or guardians of children enrolled in the nursery.

3. Refund Conditions

  • Withdrawal Before Term Start
    • If a parent or guardian withdraws their child from the nursery before the start of the term, the full tuition fee will be refunded, minus the registration fee and any non-refundable deposits.
  • Withdrawal After Term Start
    • If a parent or guardian withdraws their child after the term has started, the refund will be processed as follows:(The refund policy is applicable for term registration, not monthly registration)
      • During the first week of the term: 75% of the tuition fee will be refunded.
      • During the second week of the term: 50% of the tuition fee will be refunded.
      • During the third week of the term: 25% of the tuition fee will be refunded.
      • After the third week of the term: No refund will be provided.
  • Long-Term Illness:
    • In cases where a child is withdrawn due to long-term illness, a refund will be considered on a case-by-case basis upon submission of a valid medical certificate. The refund amount will be determined by the nursery management.

4. Application Process for Refund

  • Submission: Parents or guardians must submit a written request for a refund, including the reason for withdrawal and any supporting documents, to the nursery administration.
  • Review: The nursery administration will review the request and determine the refund amount based on the conditions outlined in this policy.
  • Approval and Processing: Once approved, the refund will be processed within 30 days and returned via the original payment method.

5. Non-Refundable Fees

  • Registration fees and any other specified non-refundable deposits will not be refunded under any circumstances.

6. Communication

  • The refund policy will be communicated to parents or guardians at the time of enrollment and will be available on the nursery’s website and in the parent handbook.

7. Policy Review

  • This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure compliance with KHDA guidelines and to address any changes in the nursery’s operational procedures.
